Outdoor furniture can make an interesting statement regarding the homeowner. It can say warm and inviting or it can exude a cold, utilitarian feel. Rattan cube garden furniture combines the warm look of rattan with a sleek, modern styling not found in many backyards or patios.
Regular patio furniture used to only come in one or two varieties such as wood or plastic, and neither was very comfortable for long periods. The wood ones were heavy and clunky looking and the plastic ones looked more like kid’s toys than furniture. The rattan sets that are now available look good enough to have indoors rather than out and can be used as such should the homeowner choose.
Rattan is normally a very durable material, but sunlight and weather can take its toll on anything left outdoors long enough. The manufacturers of outdoor furniture addressed this issue by creating synthetic rattan that looks and feels like natural rattan, but withstands the rigors of outdoor use much better. The synthetic materials will hold up under constant outdoor exposure to the elements.

In time I hope to find the perfect patio furniture covers for my patio set. I’ve done a bit of hunting so far and I am not going to give up until I find success. Now that summer is around the corner, my kids want to have every meal outside. That means that almost every evening after I get home from work, I’m washing the top of my patio table with a brush and a bucket of warm soapy water.
I have some lovely furniture that looks like it is made from exotic hard wood but it really isn’t. I expect it is made with pine and stained to look exotic. I got a great deal on the furniture at Home Depot about six years ago. Another reason I desire some new patio furniture covers is that the rain and the sun can really destroy the finish on my wooden furniture. The furniture has really aged well and I have nothing to complain about. However, without annual or bi-annual maintenance it can show its age.

Whatever the season or month of year, it’s always nice to enjoy sitting out in the garden, spending some time relaxing and appreciating nature. But, once everything is all done and you’ve finished making your garden a beautiful oasis, you just may overlook one very crucial element, a special place in which to sit and admire your work.
Ordinary patio furniture just doesn’t do the job for most people. After all, it doesn’t fit in with the majority of gardens, and it can be uncomfortable, too. However, that doesn’t stop many from buying patio furniture for their gardens. They don’t realize they have another option. If you’re looking for something that’ll fit right in and help turn your garden into a peaceful haven, an outdoor swing is the perfect choice.
Swings are comforting and pleasant to sit in, and remind us of days gone by. Most of us have spent some time relaxing in a swing as children, or enjoying its benefits as adults. Garden swings are much better places for relaxation than the average patio chair. Plus, they come in many designs, to it’s easy to fit them into your overall garden design, whether it’s simple and sleek, or fantastical.

Outdoor furniture covers are a really good idea if you want to safeguard your investment in patio furniture. Whether you live in the northern climes and need to protect you furniture from the salt and snow or in a tropical country and need to protect your patio furniture from a blazing sun, a small investment in outdoor furniture covers is well worth it.
Outdoor furniture covers are as varied as patio furniture is itself. The types of outdoor furniture that benefit most from being covered are painted metal furniture and specific types of hard wood and soft wood furniture. Without some good quality protection from the elements both of these types of furniture can age and deteriorate rapidly from the elements. Even lovely cedar furniture which fades to a beautiful silvery color can benefit from a bit of salt and snow defense.

When I was choosing new patio furniture covers I felt a bit lost. I was really tired of having to wash my patio table each time my family wanted to eat in the backyard, which in the summer is almost every other day. I live in an area that has a lot of squirrels and birds and raccoons and I just wasn’t comfortable with my children eating off the table before I had a chance to wash in it good warm soapy water.
The other reason I wanted patio furniture covers is that the sun and the rain and the snow can really damaged the finish on my wooden furniture. I have some lovely furniture that looks teak but isn’t teak. I got a great deal on it at Canadian Tire a few years ago. It has really held up well and I’m pleased with it. However, it can show some age.
Almost every autumn I rough sand the table and chairs, re-apply a teak or walnut stain and then rub some tung oil into the wood. The whole procedure generally takes 2 half days and the furniture really looks brand new when I’m finished. I have no doubt that this little effort has added years to the life of my furniture. I don’t really mind the job but having some outdoor patio furniture covers might make it less necessary?like maybe every three years.

An outdoor patio or porch swing is a wonderfully relaxing addition to any home. Tranquil moments, drifting back and forth whiling away a summer evening on a porch swing, are moments we can cherish. Therefore, it is important that we invest in a high quality, well-made and comfortable outdoor swing. Outdoor swings made of cedar are the best option for durability, quality and comfort. Here are five significant reasons to buy a cedar outdoor swing for your home or garden.
#1 Durability – Many types of wood, when exposed to the sun, rain, cold and heat they way a porch swing is, cracks and/or rots. These woods must be treated with chemicals in order to preserve them. Cedar, on the other hand does not. It is a wood that contains its own natural protection through natural oils and chemicals that preserve and strengthen the wood. Light weight and durable, a outdoor porch swing made of cedar will outlast any other swing made with another material.

Hot Tub Manufacturing has never been considered a GREEN industry before. That is why most Hot tub companies just manufacture hot tubs, spray fiberglass and resins, use plastics and steel without much regard for the environment, except to follow EPA guidelines. Then came the “The California Energy Commission (CEC)”. They have some of the most rigid standards in the USA and they monitor energy efficiency. They recently passed a bill called “title 20″, which sets a standard amount of allowable energy used by a portable spa/hot tub. The amount of allowable energy per the new guidelines, was not met by 65% of hot tub manufacturers who failed an independent study done by California Polytechnic State University. Softub, a 20 year old company, was the only manufacturer to pass these new guidelines without having to make any changes to its manufacturing process.
So now some hot tubs are showing up that comply with these new regulations or have since complied with manufacturing changes. It is important to note that Softub is a first in the Hot Tub Industry considering its unique design, function and in its green industry standards that have been a part of the “Green Movement”, since its inception. Since many states are now adopting the CEC standards and implementing these energy requirements it is of value to note that it was Softub who lead the way to the greening of hot tubs.
